By all rights, with this radical difference in resolution – how is it possible for us to even see an image on a television screen? Shouldn’t we instead see a collection of tiny blinking 640-553 lights? Well, that’s true. But what happens is that the visual processing that occurs in our brains is absolutely amazing as well. The brain recognizes the pattern in the tiny blinking lights. And even though its really not enough information to create an image, the brain fills in the missing information – the black spaces 640-721 between the blinking lights – and turns it into an image that can be understood.Remember that each eye has two kinds of sensors in it: rods and cones. Rods detect brightness and provide a monochrome image. Cones detect color and provide a color image. So we really are receiving two independent streams of vision at the same time from each eye. This visual system 640-802 enables us to distinguish about 160,000 different brightness levels or shades of gray, and about 65 million different colors
